Volunteer Corps established
2009
South Dublin County Volunteer Centre and South Dublin County Council establish the Volunteer Corps as the first events volunteering program in Ireland, following recommendations of the ideas campaign.
Volunteers participate in first events
2010
The volunteer corps participate in their first events in South Dublin – the St. Patrick’s day parades and a festival of flags.
Website, Brand and online presence established
2011
A new website is launched (www.volunteercorps.ie). A new online tool for volunteer management is developed for the Corps. A new logo and uniform is funded by South Dublin County Council
Membership and sign up reaches over 200
2012
Over 200 volunteers have registered for the Corps at this stage. A large training and thank you event is held in Tallaght Stadium We launch a new uniform including teeshirts, ID cards and Jackets.
We have a worker
2018
Because of the volume of work coming the way of the volunteer corps, the board of the volunteer centre decide to recruit a part time work and Bernard Murphy joins the team.
Growing and Growing
2019
Funding is received for a whole new set of jackets for the Corps. The business continues with more and more events for the Corps coming on stream.
