The Friends of St. Cuthbert’s Park group, who organized a Community Fun Day on 13th July are organizing an outdoor cinema for 20th September, Culture Night.
FOSCP will hire Outdoormovies.ie to bring their inflatable screen to the park to show a popular family movie such as Hokus Pokus, outdoors.
People will be invited to bring picnic and blankets and cushions to sit on. It’s a family focused event and also part of efforts by the group to ‘reclaim’ the usage of the park for residents living in the surrounding area.
The natural slope on the lower hill of St Cuthberts Park will be the area people will sit and the screen be placed at the bottom of the hill.
The movie cannot start until it is sufficiently dark around 8pm.
The agreement with Outdoor Movies is that they can cancel the event due to adverse weather. We have chosen 20th September which is culture night and will submit the event to the culturenight.ie website for inclusion on the programme.
Volunteers are required on the evening to help out with the event, to guide people to the area and general stewarding duties.
As there is a very short run in to this event, please consider volunteering as soon as possible.
